How it suits a family
ESF Courchevel 1850 is the main ski school, and it says it offers English-speaking instructors. Request English when you book and check that lessons are available. A children's village offers supervised ski and creative activities. For young children, the school advertises ages 3 to 5, and you need to select the age-specific product. Club Piou Piou, for ages 3 to 5, lists 2026/27 course weeks from 5 December 2026 to the week of 10 to 17 April 2027.
For the youngest children, the Drago nursery accepts ages 18 months to 3 years. Daycare does not include ski lessons. Reserve ahead, because sessions and French-holiday schedules vary.
There is a free ski pass offer for under-5s in 2026/27. You collect it at a sales point with proof of age and a photograph, and other costs may apply, so confirm the conditions before you travel. Non-skiers and rest days have an option too, because there is an indoor ice rink in Courchevel 1850. Check public-session times and equipment hire.
For UK school holidays, Christmas and February half-term are both reasonable shortlist periods within the season dates. Easter also works.
